Applications
Aircraft have up to 1,100 sensors to monitor performance in flight. These sensors make it possible for more data to be stored in the Flight Data Recorder (FDR or Black Box) than can be fully displayed in the cockpit. Wi-SKY’s unsurpassed throughput can transmit important flight management information real-time to the cockpit to assist pilots in making significant and even critical decisions during flight. Prior to Wi-SKY’S radio, capable of 100 megabits per second (Mbps) at 100 miles distance, this volume of data simply could never be communicated between the aircraft and the ground. Now feasible are dozens of new IT applications that will facilitate safety advancements, enhance operations efficiencies and significantly expand passenger inflight services.
