LEVERAGING UNCOMMON RESOURCE OF UNLICENSED SPECTRUM

What makes this Wi-SKY enhanced-4G radio so compelling is that it was not designed for multi-million dollar dedicated spectrum but for 80 MHz of license-exempt spectrum

Timing

Dedicated (Licensed) Spectrum: To acquire licensed spectrum, it would take years of bidding—and that’s if as much as 20MHz contiguous licensed spectrum ever became available.

Wi-SKY’s Unlicensed Spectrum: Readily available now, and is the only source of contiguous frequency necessary for the 80MHz bandwidth Wi-SKY delivers.

Money

Dedicated (Licensed) Spectrum: The last public auction for a substantial spectrum license in the range of 20MHz cost the successful bidder hundreds of millions of dollars.

Wi-SKY’s Unlicensed Spectrum: We’ve made the 80 MHz unlicensed spectrum viable, and at no cost is yet the equivalent of a billion dollar licensed spectrum asset.

CAPACitY

Dedicated (Licensed) Spectrum: An important rule of thumb for data transmission is that 1 Mbps requires 1 MHz of spectrum. Therefore, the narrow band of dedicated spectrum used by current cellular and satellite technologies is insufficient to generate the 100 Mbps throughput Wi-SKY delivers.

Wi-SKY’s License-Exempt Spectrum: The only way to achieve Wi-SKY’s 100MBPs of throughput is to use that 80MHz of frequency. Although license-exempt frequency is readily available, it is very cluttered and FCC-restricted to low-powered, 1 watt radios. Wi-SKY has developed a unique proprietary methodology to remove the clutter and deliver a clear, clean signal. Wi-SKY’s highly-modified 4G radio also overcomes the power limitation in a unique way that conforms to the FCC regulations for license-exempt spectrum.

SPECTRUM PER PLANE

Dedicated (Licensed) Spectrum: The only option with current cellular and satellite technology is to share the frequency with all the planes in the sky. Therefore, the throughput to each plane diminishes when multiple planes are in the same coverage area.

Wi-SKY’s License-Exempt Spectrum: Cancelling the noise in the license-exempt spectrum also means ignoring other signals nearby. Therefore, each signal delivers 100% of the frequency capacity to every plane in the coverage area. The maximum throughput per satellite is a 100 Mbps for an entire continent. By comparison, Wi-SKY delivers 100 Mbps to every plane in the sky.
